SFVision Technologies, a developer of  mobile apps for Salesforce, is releasing version 2 of its SFVision for Salesforce iOS/iPad app. The app is designed to simplify daily Salesforce tasks using the unique capabilities of mobile devices.


“We got feedback from customers both before and after we released version 1 about what they didn’t like in Salesforce, and folded in that functionality,” explained SFVision CEO/Founder Kevin Mooney. “In version 2 we provide more rapid access to frequent destinations. Drilling down is time-consuming.”

To remedy this problem, Mooney said the latest version of SFVision for Salesforce provides a recent items list with tasks and activities that can be seen in slide-up view. “You can create a stage pipeline with a center for each stage of the sales process and view by stage.”

In addition, an OrgView feature displays all contacts for a specific sales account in an organizational view with drag-and-drop functionality. OrgView also manages strategic indicators such as contact roles and decision-making capabilities. “Users can update role data in SFVision and automatically create a new record in Salesforce,” stated Mooney. “You can touch things inside Salesforce (from the app) and manipulate data -- different fields and different Salesforce objects. We isolate and insulate the user from Salesforce data schema.”

SFVision also allows users direct access to Salesforce by allowing them to perform tasks including creating new contacts and leads with a single touch, pushing and pulling contacts between iPad and Salesforce address books, creating Salesforce contacts and leads from V-cards and QRcodes stored in an iPad camera, and linking Salesforce and iPad calendars.

Salesforce Addresses Mobile User Needs

SFVision is not the only company recognizing that mobile Salesforce users have their own set of needs -- Salesforce itself tried to make life a little easier for mobile users in its recent Spring ’13 release. As reported by CMSWire, the Spring '13 release includes the option for Salesforce Touch users to view dashboards. They can access the dashboards tab from the tab panel and see the last dashboard viewed on any device.

The dashboards are different on Salesforce Touch than on the full site. Touch dashboards don’t show Visualforce components, filters or source reports. This update is available to all users, but they must have Salesforce Touch enabled to see them.

On the Road with Salesforce

Jack Kerouac wrote his 1950s Beat Generation manifesto “On the Road” about taking off from all your responsibilities with no set destination -- he would have had little use for SFVision for Salesforce. However, sales professionals do not have the luxury of being quite so carefree when they hit the road. According to an article in BusinessNewsDaily, SF Vision for Salesforce version 2 makes it easier for salespeople to leave the office and still have the full power of Salesforce at their fingertips.
