Richard Paterson

Rich fulfilled an ambition to start an IT consultancy and co-founded BrightStarr in 2005 with Will Saville (also a CMSWire Blogger). As Joint Managing Director he is actively involved in all parts of the business and has helped grow BrightStarr to be synonymous with SharePoint in both the UK and US markets. In 2009 Rich was recognised for his achievement's in business by being selected as one of the Top 30 Young Entrepreneurs in the Young Guns awards. Rich is a technology enthusiast and evangelist as well as being a classic early adopter. He is particularly passionate about web and mobile technology and its application within the business environment. Rich is an obsessive problem solver whether that be business, people or technology. As a technical author, his name can be found inside several SharePoint books and he is a keen blogger. Rich focuses on putting User Experience at the centre of projects, which means being at the bleeding edge of web development and strives to stay at the forefront of technology. On a personal level, he is a dedicated husband, father and son. Richard can often be found running, cycling or swimming and during the summer months competing in Triathlons.
