Phil is an independent consultant at Phillip Kemelor Consulting, LLC.
Phil was one of the earliest adopters and advocates for the use of analytics and has over 20 years of experience in the field as a practitioner, industry analyst and consultant. Before starting his own consultancy, Phil was VP, client services at MaassMedia and before that, senior manager of enterprise intelligence digital analytics at EY. Prior to EY, Phil was a vice president at Semphonic, where he led the company’s Washington DC practice with a focus on strategic, government and nonprofit analytics.
Phil wrote The Executive’s Guide to Web Site Measurement and Testing, one of the first books to describe the business advantages of web analytics in 2006 and was the lead research analyst for The CMS Watch Web Analytics Report, an annual evaluation of Web analytics software vendors from 2007 to 2010. Before Semphonic, Kemelor co-founded the professional services group and served as Principal Consultant at NetGenesis, one of the first web analytics software companies and established one of the first enterprise-level web analytics programs at Bell Atlantic in 1997.
